Hollow fiber filters require stable potting materials, traditionally polyurethane and epoxy, both of which present challenges. Polyurethane can form bubbles and weaken in the presence of moisture, while epoxy generates heat that can damage filter materials and cause thermal expansion issues. Addressing these issues can increase manufacturing complexity and cost.
